Some of my favourite things about London were Borough Market and Greenwich Market so I was delighted to discover Ripe Market in Dubai on Instagram a little while ago. Ripe Market is a food and craft market that takes place every Friday at Zabeel Park from 9am to 2pm. We arrived around 11:30 and the market was jam packed with people checking out the stalls. I think in total there are around 150 stalls selling everything from juices and food to eat then & there to fresh organic food to go, hand crafted jewellery to skincare products, furnishings and clothes. I was excited to get lunch at the market and we started off with fresh coconut water and then found a stall selling paella (check out Rhys’ pout as he tucks in!). Later to cool down we had some Chilly billy ice lollies. If you want to take your time and not deal with the crowds so much then you should head over earlier in the morning closer to opening time, but it might be equally busy then as we’ve not tried that yet. I can’t wait to go back and soak up a little more of the atmosphere.
A bonus about the Ripe Market is its location in Zabeel Park, we spent a lot of time wandering around the park, taking in the trees, flowers… all that green! From the park you can also catch a glimpse of the Burj Khalifa. This was such a lovely day out, seeing a completely different side to the Dubai we’ve experienced so far.
